| So I am VERY excited for the first week of November. Both Dashboard Confessional and Weezer are coming out with new albums. Not only is this awesome, but Dashboard is releasing two versions of the cd with one being full band, and the other acoustic which makes me a happy camper.
In other music news I'm starting to get a little tired of my college A Cappella group. I love so many of the people in the group and really do consider them good friends, but we just hit a rough spot and it is becoming difficult to have a productive rehearsal. On top of all this we might be kicking someone out of the group, and other members don't feel like they are still into the group. Since no one is actually trying it makes me want to try less to teach them.
The teaching is another thing. I LOVE arranging. So much that I arranged two songs for the group and I am very happy with how they came out (even though they are my 3rd and 4th arrangements ever). When it comes to teaching I have no idea what I am doing. This is stressing me out, and since I'm not even getting to much of a chance to learn the songs myself I feel like I am bringing down the group vocally. I do know the arrangements well enough that it only takes me one or two times to listen to my part to learn it. Again it comes back to the group... I feel like no one is trying so everything is just sound crappy. I wish that the mens group from my freshmen year was still around and that I was still singing with them. :/ I really think I might start a new group when I move up to NY, then again maybe a band with some good friends will be better.

| Earlier while talking to Camille about the the ignorance of this kids I'm "friends" with on facebook. He posts a lot of political things that I don't agree with. After mentioning this to Cam she asked me, "Then why are you friends with him?"
Now that I've thought about it I wouldn't ever stop being friends with someone just because their views differ from mine. I have several friends who smoke pot, drink excessively, have different social and political views then me... But still I wouldn't not talk to them if they came up to me. That's just who I am.
This either makes me really stupid, a good friend, or just someone who can always be trusted.
As for this kid on facebook... I've always found him annoying and he is really a friend of a friend... but I still won't delete him because I love to facebook stalk people... :/
| Lately with a bunch of stressful thoughts on my mind constantly I've had trouble sleeping. But that is not why I am here at 7am...
I would like to talk about Geoff Johns and Darwyn Cooke...
I've always thought comic books were very cool, but as a kid I never got into them. It was a mix of the lack of money, and the fact that I didn't know where to go to get them in my small town (Probably poughkeepsie). Also I just didn't know where to start or what to read.
So here I am in college and I finally say one day... "I'm gonna read some comics!" Instead of going out and buying singles or trade paperbacks I learned from my room mate that I could find some comics online. I found a nice community and begun with what I thought was interesting.
The biggest problem I had getting into comics was the art. Even if the story in a comic is good I still have a hard time reading it if the art is dull. Amazingly I scored big time on my first try. I started with Darwyne Cooke's rendition of Will Eisner's The Spirit. I ended up reading it right before the movie and I just fell in love with it. The art looked so good and had such a unique yet retro feel to it.
The Batman tie in was also a really good story.
So I found a start and I began searching the internet for comics to read. I thought about what I liked superhero wise and knew that I was always a big DC fan when it came to Justice League characters. On top of that I LOVED Green Lantern.
I went out to Books-a-Million and decided to buy a trade when I got there. I did some research through what I wanted to read while I was there and picked up a Green Lantern trade by Geoff Johns. Again I was blown away by the art AND the story was so interesting and made me want to read so many more. I ended up buying the first two trades in the series.
Through the months I've attempted Civil War which is a Marvel universe event, but I quickly lost steam after reading through 20 something comics with 80 more to go... I read Wanted which was interesting to say the least (and I still haven't seen the movie). I also attempted the DC event Final Crisis w/o an previous comic reading and still enjoyed it and understood most of it (with some help from the internet).
Since I fell in love with John's story writing I got myself a JSA comic that he worked on and read through that easily.
So here I am with comics galore. My new favourite writer is most definitely Geoff Johns (which makes me want to watch Smallville, also he writes on Robot Chicken which is cool), and Darwyn Cooke's drawing style is amazing. I never thought that I would get so into comics, and its soooo addicting, but I have NOOOOO money lol
I definitely need to read more by both Cooke and John's (and I plan to somehow catch up and collect Blackest Night).
